The problem: knowledge is everywhere, answers are nowhere

Every multi-location team has the same problem.

Knowledge is everywhere in your company but usually out of reach exactly when it’s needed.
A shift begins. A question comes up — about a policy, a procedure, a customer situation.
Somewhere, the answer already exists: in a handbook, a memo, a training video, an announcement from HQ.

But pulling it up in 30 seconds, in the language the person actually speaks, is where it breaks down. So the question goes unanswered. The wrong answer goes out. Or someone just guesses.

Today, we’re changing that.

What is Bounti AI Search?

Bounti AI Search is a cross-lingual AI knowledge search tool for frontline teams. It’s powered by an AI assistant called Aras, and it’s built directly into the Bounti platform.

Here’s what it does, in one paragraph: a team member types a question in their own language. Aras searches your existing Bounti content — handbooks, policies, training courses, news posts, and announcements — finds the passage that answers the question, translates that passage into the language the question was asked in, and links back to the original source. All in seconds.

Bounti AI Search is designed for:

  • Multi-location businesses (retail, hospitality, food service, logistics, healthcare) with teams that speak different languages

  • Frontline employees who need fast answers during a shift, without calling HQ

  • Operations teams who want to reduce the volume of repetitive questions flowing to headquarters

  • New hires who need to get productive quickly without completing full training programs

What makes Bounti AI Search different from general AI search or a chatbot like ChatGPT:

  • Answers come only from your own company content, never the open web or a model’s training data

  • Every answer is source-linked and verifiable

  • Cross-lingual by default — source language and question language do not need to match

  • No configuration required — it uses the content you’ve already uploaded to Bounti

Introducing Aras: Bounti AI Search

Say hi to Aras, the new AI assistant behind Bounti AI Search.

Aras lets anyone on your team ask a question the way they’d ask a colleague — in their own words, in their own language. The answer comes back in seconds, pulled straight from your company’s own content and translated into the language they asked in.

Someone in Paris asks in French and gets the answer from a German memo from HQ. Someone in Munich asks in German and gets it from a French training doc. Same answer, same source, every language.

How we designed Aras

When we started building Aras, we had a handful of clear design goals in mind. We wanted an AI that would:

1. Work out of the box. No new content libraries. No manual intent mapping. No “answers” you have to curate one-by-one. Aras uses the knowledge you’ve already put into Bounti — handbooks, policies, news, training and starts working from day one.

2. Feel like asking a colleague. Your team shouldn’t need a training session to get value. Questions get phrased naturally, in any language and Aras responds the same way.

3. Stay grounded in your own content. Aras answers only from the content inside your Bounti workspace. Not the open web. Not a generic model’s training data. Your policies, your news, your training materials — that’s the answer.

4. Always link back to the source. Every answer includes a link to the document, training course, or announcement it came from. So your team doesn’t just get an answer — they can verify it in one click.

5. Be cross-lingual by default. The source can be in any language. The question can be in any language. Aras bridges the two, finding the relevant passage and returning the answer in the language the question was asked in.

We believe these five design choices are what turn “another AI search bar” into something your frontline team actually uses every shift.

Two hero use cases your team will feel from day one

1. Cross-lingual search

A new team member in Paris asks about processing refunds without a receipt. Aras pulls the answer from the German cash register policy, translates it on the spot, and links directly to the source.

No call to HQ. No waiting. No training required.

For multi-location teams, this is the big unlock. One team, one source of truth — no matter how many languages your people speak.

2. Up-to-date news & announcements

A shift lead wants to know who was named “Employee of the Month” before the morning briefing. One question, one answer — directly from the latest internal announcement.

Information that usually gets lost in channels stays present in day-to-day work.

And all the small questions in between

“Are there gluten in our burger buns?” “What’s the escalation process for a refund over €200?” “Who do I call if the POS goes down on a Sunday?”

For every one of these, Aras finds the answer inside your own content and shows exactly where it came from — a training course, a news post, a memo from HQ. Your team doesn’t just get an answer. They know it’s the right one.

Designed for trust: source-linked answers, grounded in your content

AI products only work in operations if people actually trust them. That’s why Aras was built around two principles.

Grounded, not generated. Aras only answers from content you’ve put into Bounti. If the information isn’t there, Aras won’t make something up — it’ll say it doesn’t know. Constraining the information Aras can use radically increases its predictability and trustworthiness, and it means your team always gets answers aligned with your own playbook.

Always shows its work. Every answer links to the exact source — a training course, a memo, a news post, a handbook. Your team sees both the answer and the original document it came from. If they want to verify, they can do it in one click. If the source needs updating, you’ll know about it.

“A search function is only as good as its daily use. AI Search is built to feel like a quick question to an experienced colleague — fast, easy, no training required. Our beta customers report that new employees become productive significantly faster and that inquiries to HQ noticeably go down.” — Deniz, Bounti founder

What to keep in mind

A few honest notes on the first version of AI Search.

Quality of answers depends on quality and depth of content. Aras is grounded in your Bounti content, so the more up-to-date your policies, handbooks, and announcements, the better the answers. If two documents contradict each other, Aras will surface the most recent and link to the source so your team can judge.

Translation is applied to the passage, not your whole library. Aras doesn’t re-translate your entire content library in advance. It finds the passage that answers the question and translates that. The original source stays one click away for anyone who wants to read it in the original language.
