How we designed Aras
When we started building Aras, we had a handful of clear design goals in mind. We wanted an AI that would:
1. Work out of the box. No new content libraries. No manual intent mapping. No "answers" you have to curate one-by-one. Aras uses the knowledge you've already put into Bounti — handbooks, policies, news, training and starts working from day one.
2. Feel like asking a colleague. Your team shouldn't need a training session to get value. Questions get phrased naturally, in any language and Aras responds the same way.
3. Stay grounded in your own content. Aras answers only from the content inside your Bounti workspace. Not the open web. Not a generic model's training data. Your policies, your news, your training materials — that's the answer.
4. Always link back to the source. Every answer includes a link to the document, training course, or announcement it came from. So your team doesn't just get an answer — they can verify it in one click.
5. Be cross-lingual by default. The source can be in any language. The question can be in any language. Aras bridges the two, finding the relevant passage and returning the answer in the language the question was asked in.

Quality of answers depends on quality and depth of content. Aras is grounded in your Bounti content, so the more up-to-date your policies, handbooks, and announcements, the better the answers. If two documents contradict each other, Aras will surface the most recent and link to the source so your team can judge.
Translation is applied to the passage, not your whole library. Aras doesn't re-translate your entire content library in advance. It finds the passage that answers the question and translates that. The original source stays one click away for anyone who wants to read it in the original language.
